This is how we do it

Favorite teams huh? Well that's easy, it's...

Sadly, we haven't started the season off with a bang. Did you hear the Lions won a game?! URGH! But we still love our 'Skins! Remember?

Needless to say, we're pretty intense come kick off. We all desperately want a win! This is typically where you'll find Duffy.
If he's standing and we're playing well, he stays in that stance! Whatever it takes...right?

The rest of us are typically watching intensely while surfing the net ;)
This is Julie's stressed face! She goes through waves of emotions. Poor girl!

Jonathan is the only one who's not a Redskins fan. He cheers for the much hated Cowboys...(ok, he doesn't hate them but hey, we're 'Skins fans, right?!)

This season we've started a new tradition of making lots of good food to celebrate football day. We're having fun trying new recipes! Here's a peak at a couple of our favorites...

White Chicken Chili

Buffalo Chicken Dip

YUM!

We really do love our teams! Not just the Redskins either! You'll find us acting crazy for the...

Ok, Jim and Julie cheer for the O's...the rest of us can't bear to ha!

too!

Fishin' stories

I went to the bin of pictures that are in desperate need of sorting and organizing (volunteers?), not knowing what I was really looking for. This one jumped out at me. When I grabbed it and headed to the scanner I didn't realize that it was taken 10 years ago almost to the day! Guess that really does make it the perfect one for walking down memory lane! Jon is 7 here and as you can see is pretty 'cited to have this catch! Funny, I don't remember now if he had help. Bet his Pappy Jeff would remember =).

Think it's too early

To decorate for Christmas? OK, maybe a little but I get excited to do it when I see things like this!

I'm going to do my best to hold off 'til the first weekend in November. I know, some of you are thinking that's still waaaaay too early but that's gonna take a lot of self discipline on my part after looking through some of the great ideas from other bloggers. I've always been an early decorator. I mean if you're going to go to all of that work, my as well enjoy it, right? But come the 27th of December I'm ready to pack it away! Magically it becomes messy once Christmas has passed.

Thanks to everyone for the inspiration! I have to admit for the past couple of years I haven't been that into decorating. But this year, I think I'm ready! Bring on the twinkle lights and snowmen! Fa, la, la, la, la...ha!

Couldn't've been me!

This is officially my first 'not me' Monday post. Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of moments that qualify, just not ones I'm brave enough to share. Ha!

But this week well... I most certainly did NOT have my 13 year old Godson climb the shelves at Walmart to get the container of kitty litter I wanted from the highest one! Nope, not me.

AND, it was definitely not in that same trip that I jerked a baby gate from the cart while checking out and jabbed my cheek, right on the bone. Not me that didn't realize it was bleeding! It was not me that was using Jacob's sweatshirt sleeve to dap up the blood from that cheek! (it was not all I had to clean it up with.) (Oh yeah, the gate is not for a baby! No seriously! It's for the doggies! =))

Wasn't me who drove 90,000 miles on my original set of tires! I'm not stubborn and wouldn't give in to buy new ones until now.

Must've been someone else who procrastinated all weekend with her to-do list. Wasn't me who was desperately rushing to get a few things done so she could see a little football Sunday afternoon.

Don't know who it was who dropped Titan's leash while walking him and Mason in the pitch dark and had to chase him through neighbor's yards as he chased a bunny. Did I mention that whoever that was was in her PJ's too!

Shew, so glad none of that was me. Ha!

Do-nuts!

I know in my last post I said that we were all settled in for the night, but Jake hinted that we should head out to Krumpe's! Are you wondering what that is? It's a local shop that offers freshly made do-nuts! They open at 7 each evening and remain open 'til 2 am. They make the do-nuts right there and when you order they literally come right off the racks that just left the oven....can you say YUM!?

We all agreed that was a great idea! So, thanks to our chauffeur
We were on our way at
When we got there we were excited to see
and even more excited when we got inside!
As soon as we were back in the car the kids were in the box! Like they'd never seen food before Ha!

Please take note of the box...where'd they all go?!

I didn't think it was nice to take a picture of Julie shoveling her prized treat in her face :)

So, if you're ever in the area, stop by
for...

You'll be hooked too!

Thanks for stopping by
