All day long

Today is my birthday! Can I just tell you that it has rained ALL day...no joke...like need an ark rain! White knuckles driving home rain! But, it's still my birthday and I love that! I love forgetting for a few minutes and then remembering...oh yeah, today's my birthday! :)

There's been so many wishes...people that I haven't heard from in waaaay too long...people I talk to every day...friends and family and friends that are practically family! And it's times like these that make me feel like I matter! Ha!

So, every Thursday night (well not every..but darn close to EVERY) we go to this local place...The Broad Axe! We like it there...it's a little like Cheers...where everybody knows your name. Well not quite, but you get the point. And it's Thursday, right? So, that's where we were. Dinner and drinks with Duffy and Julie...chats over the phone with Jon and Jake..my day is complete!

And yep, this is my last year to be 30 something. And don't think I'm not going to hold on tight and enjoy it! Because I am...and when it's next year at this time and I'm writing about being the big four oh...well that'll be ok too, but until then...I'm going to live it up...my way. ;) I can promise you this...when I say goodbye to the 30's I'm gonna say, now that was fun!

So on this very rainy night (I can hear it hitting the roof as I type and honestly, it's one of my most favorite sounds to hear when I'm laying quiet in bed) I say bring it on! I'm ready! Let the party begin....

I have this streak thing going...see, I haven't missed a single year at the fair since I've been alive. Can't let that end...not if I can help it! So off we went...

Oh and the little pigs! They were smaller than I've ever seen and really really cute!

And the food and rides...love this place! It makes me smile!

We had fun at the Great Frederick Fair!

We partied in the streets!

Every year Frederick closes the main street in town and let's the party begin. It's a little festival they call 'In the Streets'...witty, huh?! This year when we heard the Kelly Bell Band would take the stage...well, we were there!

Have you heard of them? Blues music at its best...at least in my little humble opinion.


Perfect late summer weather went well with good music, drinks and food.

Good to the last drop!

We did it again...we got up early and headed out. Bundled up and huddled together...it was another nippy morning!

But so worth it! Duffy and Jacob got in a little skiing before heading to the ropes for a little swinging....

And for the record...rope swinging is no joke! ;) Jake got tangled in the rope today and has a little souvenir to show for it.

The weather was beautiful this weekend. And while I love when the season's change, I'm gonna miss this

I've never happier than when I'm floating on the water! Time goes way too fast when I'm there....

Squeezing every last drop!

It's Labor Day weekend and we're trying to live it up! It feels like fall is right around the corner....the morning's are cool and afternoon's comfortable. We got up early and headed out on the river for a little bit. I think if you ask the kids they'd say it was a little chilly...so we grabbed some sweatshirts and a quilt and we were off!

Think we might just have to do it again tomorrow morning! =)
